Please note that the “Brief Biographical Sketch of Clayton McLaughlin, Deaf Rochesterian” presentation on Saturday, September 29 from 6 to 7 pm was canceled.

Be sure you spread the words that Saturday, September 29 Convo will be providing pizza for the community from 7 to 8 pm before JAG’s performance that evening. This will take place at Rochester School for the Deaf.

Title: My Deaf Native American Culture: The Onalee Cooper Story
Description: After Onalee Cooper retired, she decided to explore her Native American roots. This is her story.

Title: Artistic and Literary Visual Stories: The HeART of Deaf Culture
Description: Patti Durr and Karen Christie will present a new DVD set which includes stories about the Deaf experiences through artwork, ASL literature, English literature, film clips and scenes from Deaf plays. Several interactive features provide information describing works of art, poems and historical timelines in visually friendly manner. We will also show short film excerpts, which highlight specific themes across a variety of artworks related to Deaf life such as “The Dinner Table Syndrome.”

Title: William “Dummy” Hoy Classic
Description: Rochester Recreation Club of the Deaf (RRCD) will play a game against Buffalo Club of the Deaf in the 1800’s Styles baseball games with no mitts to catch the balls in the old rules at 1 pm.  At 10 am, there will be a co-ed game.  Come join us for the fun to remember William “Dummy” Hoy.
