Dear [recipient name was inserted here],
I wanted to leave a message because yesterday’s alert in my previous message. I thought I understood when writing the letter. But, I did not. I realized that I had to write it at a short time. I want to stand behind National Association of the Deaf (NAD).
Such thing Oralism does not exist. Neither does Hard of Hearing exist. Same for LSL does not exist.
It is the word deaf that exists. That word deaf came in first. Deaf came from the Bible and in all belief. It was there on that very day.
In my last email, I suggest that you support National Association of the Deaf for the National Association of the Deaf (NAD). Do not cross out the word deaf. Also that the primary souce of deaf is the culture and language. For that reason, I stand behind National Association of the
Deaf (NAD). I was mislead by some advocates who are hearing as they used tricky language. We all know English is hard to understand.
I stand with the NAD, among several other organizations and advocates, in my strong support of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. I am writing to you today to urge you to support the ratification of the CRPD. As your constituent, I request that you support
the CRPD at the Committee meeting on July 26th, vote in favor of the treaty in Committee, and move it forward to a floor vote in the Senate.
Do not change the meaning of the current CRPD. Leave it as it is… and do not change it at all.
Leave the word Deaf… and don’t change anything.
Sincerely,
Dean DeRusso
