Please Sign The Petition to Recognize ASL as an Official School Language

Tell the White House to Act!
Some of you may know that the White House has a website called We The People, where ordinary citizens can start petitions on an issue.  If 25,000 people sign one, the White House will “respond” on the issue of that petition.

Adrean Clark has started a petition at We The People, calling for the Federal Government to recognize American Sign Language (ASL) as an official language that should be taught in schools.  It’s not a mandate, just recognition that ASL is a language that should be taught in schools along with Spanish, French, etc.  Hopefully, states and individual school districts that do not offer ASL as a language will be influenced to do so.

The petition will close on December 12th so please sign this today and let other folks know about it on Facebook, Twitter and any other social media outlet you may use.

The petition is at: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/officially-recognize-american-sign-language-community-language-and-language-instruction-schools/CRPw2JLk

NOTE:  You have to create an account with the website.  But you only have to do it once, then you can sign other petitions as well.

Thank you,
