Hi everyone,

Today is the day United Way of Greater Rochester will have a ROC the Day! Center for Disability Rights (CDR) and Regional Center for Independent Living (RCIL) are actually getting part of this. However, today is also a day to celebrate someone we know Birthday! It’s Chris Hilderbrant! Do you know him? If so, he done many great things in the community. Chris told me yesterday not to give him any gifts. He would accept any donations to the CDR agency through the below link:

Please donate! If you would like to show how much of an impact can RCIL and the Deaf Systems Advocacy makes in our community in just one day? You can also ROC the Day with RCIL and donate a gift to our local not-for-profit organization doing great work right here in this community. We will accept Checks send to our RCIL agency if you do not feel comfortable using your credit card online.

Well, it’s 12.12.12 and not only am I a year older, but it’s time to Roc the Day with the United Wayof Greater Rochester! I hope you will consider making a donation to the Center for Disability Rights via www.roctheday.org/centerfordisabilityrights .

A little great news so far… coming into today we actually already had $1,000 in donations and winnings from early entry prizes. That put us well on our way to eclipsing last year’s earnings. Now it’s up to our members, Board, staff and me to really make this a great fundraiser for CDR.

So, again, in lieu of that great big expensive gift you no doubt were planning on giving me, please consider making a donation to the Center for Disability Rights to support to civil rights advocacy we do and the direct programs we offer to people with all types of disabilities. We have made great progress in the 14 years I’ve been here, but there’s still much work to be done.

Thank you for your consideration and happy holidays!

Chris
